I loved playing this game so much!! Currently i'm playing the game to get all of the endings ( so far I got 5 of the endings, mostly from Keir's route, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH) but everything about the game is great!! I love everything and the MC, the MC stands out from other games I have played. I love how you guys added a aftercare! It was lovely to talk to the MC and kinda from a bond with them! It helped me when I was doing the Cirrus route, it was a bit overwhelming but I loved it. I'm not so into BDSM but idk I was kinda into it. And the fancy stranger was so cuteee!! I love him as well! I absolutely love all the charaters and I cant wait to see the full game! LOVE OBSCURA SO MUCH <333

The after care zone is so sweet<3 didn't click it bc of any triggers or anything all that made me anxious was choosing what i was going to do in the timed answers but i calmed down after because if i didn't chose in time i could just go back. (for anyone who had the same issues i figured you can go in preferences and turn that off) i was Just curious so i talked with the main character tbh if i ever feel sad even if its nothing about the game ill probably go there

fancy stranger is in fact in another route,you can get to see them by going into the church and at some point when you leave (depending on the choice you make) you just bump into them :)
Got the good endings as the first one for each MC. At first I kinda hate Keir but he kept getting better and now I really like him and for Cirrus I didn't expect that scene at all it caught me off guard but his hotness is kinda off the chart so still love him tho. And, the fancy stranger I hope we will see more of him soon in the next chapter. Overall, this VN is fantastic I absolutely love it.
I got a bad ending and left it because there was so much story to the game. I was entranced by the writing though and the dynamics between the characters were written well. There was a lot descriptions on the settings it really helped me picture my surroundings. Nice Visual Novel! I hope to play the other ones!
I'm actually really enjoying this. From the choice of gender to the "Aftercare" zone and the addition of a safeword, this game was amazing to play especially since you provided a space to tab out if needed. I cannot wait for more instalments.

You know when you're in the mood for something and you can't quite place your finger on what but nothing you find is quite it? And you spend hours searching and find nothing? Yes well Obscura for me was that except I found Exactly what I was looking for. I am currently in the middle of the first love interest of my first playthrough and already had to stop just to sing my praises.
First of all, from the get-go the artstyle, music, and ambiance is absolutely stunning. The setting is this dark fantasy marketplace with religious undertones. I am looking forward to seeing the developments of the world.
The pacing and transitions of the story feel very natural as well. I feel like a lot of visual novel games, especially otome ones can be somewhat obvious in terms of like "THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CHOICE" where you can clearly tell when a choice is going to deviate the path one way or another. While this is sometimes helpful, I really love how natural the choices feel.
In a similar vein, as many people in these comments have mentioned, the MC is wonderful. I think they feel very natural and have realistic reactions to situations they are placed in. Again, many visual novel otome games can struggle with making likable and natural protagonists.
Finally, the progression of the relationships. Once again, just remarkably well-written and paced. Nice and slow, I like that they don't immediately start out in love with each other (I am a sucker for slower burns) and that the story takes time to build the relationships. I also love a bit of toxicity in fictional relationships so I look forward to seeing some darker themes throughout.
Basically, this is a stunningly beautiful and well-written game that honestly deserves better than being called an otome. And this is just how I feel after about an hour of playing. If you are a fan of dark fantasy, religious themes, slow burn, and romance than I really cannot recommend this game enough.

A few other notes, I really appreciate the various aftercare resources both in and out of game, especially in regards to Cirrus's route. (Although for personal preference I do find it somewhat immersion breaking but I understand the necessity for it for those that may need it, and it wasn't distracting enough to stop me from playing through his routes several times so I still consider it a good choice overall)
So far my only complaint is entirely in personal preference where honestly I think Cirrus's routes could go even darker but I'm an enjoyer of pretty dark fiction and understand it isn't for everyone. Just overall an amazing game with so much effort and creativity put into it. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.
I quite literally created an account just to type this (though I probably should have a lot sooner)- this game (even though it's only just released one chapter) was fantastic. I loved the way MC was presented as a character with clear traits and motivations. The world-building is beautiful- the plot premise is so interesting and unique. Honestly, this might be one of the best introductions to a game, in general, I've seen in a while- kudos to the writers, developers, artists, etc. because everything was executed great.
The aftercare section (spoilers about that I guess?) is something I'd even be using outside of the game- it felt so warm and comforting, and having the MC speak affirmations and break the 4th wall when I expected to be booted out of the game was quite frankly something I haven't seen before and really helped my panicking. I also realized even with ONE chapter how attached I grew to my MC. This was so considerate and kind- thank you so much for putting this in here because even if someone (like me) thinks they know what to expect sometimes taking a step back is better. This is one of the best games I've seen in a long time, absolutely fantastic I am so excited for what is to come <3

The atmosphere is just so sick and I love the world and the way there's an option for a safeword and aftercare. Cirrus' route had me holding my breath, but KIER'S ROUTE??? Top tier. Spent the first five play throughs staring at his arms. Banter. Cool full face mask. Dried fruit. What more could you ask for?
ALSO Vesper?? MVP MC of all time. I loved their narrative voice and how they interacted with the other characters. Kinda wish I knew their name before I began the play through (so I could've given them their canon name) but at the same time, playing the MC as a different name than Vesper made them really feel like their own character? And that made the aftercare feel a lot more comforting somehow. Anyway! 10/10 game

Played this a few days ago and it was absolutely amazing! spent a good hour or two doing both of the routes and trying to get the good endings. IM ANTICIPATING WITH SWEATING HANDS FOR WHEN THE NEXT ROUTE COMES OUT OR EVEN THE FULL GAME
I love the world you've created! It's so interesting. The music, characters, art... I loved it all.
While I enjoyed both routes, Kier's route was definitely my favorite. Him and the MC had such natural chemistry, every interaction was a joy. I don't like quippy characters, but the mc's snarkiness felt different here. The nonplussed delivery was incredible and a large part why I enjoyed this route so much.
Can't wait to see how the story continues! The team as a whole did fantastic work.
I really enjoyed every character in this story especially our MC.

Oh yea and it's important for the other players to really check out the trigger warnings and the age restriction because i think some ignored them (from reading some of the comments) and it's important to take care of yourself first and foremost!
I love this game so far!! I've done Kier's route twice now for both the good and bad ending, and I can't wait to explore the others. I also LOVE the MC and how expressive they are. The addition of the masks is also great because it allows you to truly imagine the MC however you want. Looking forward to more.
Wasn't really a fan of how nonconsensual Cirrus' route felt, I'm not really the target audience for (heavy) BDSM priests, but LOVED LOVED LOVED KEIR'S ROUTE. I got the good ending on the first try, and I ADORED how the MC and Keir act together. Speaking of the MC, I can't type praises high enough to fully express how much I LOVE their personality. Too many MCs aren't talkative enough, so I find it absolutely delightful how the MC always has something snarky to say. Can't wait for the next chapter!
This was so fun to play! Played both routes and my favorite is Keir even though he's a douchebag. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Keir and Vesper. Vesper is so sassy and really clever, absoluetely loved their personality! One of the only things that kinda bothered me were how it felt like Vesper's personality kind of got watered down in Cirrus's route? Vesper is desperate for the ichor but in Cirrus's route it was like they were even more desperate, to the point of not even questioning Cirrus when he first offered help. They are suspicious but never question Cirrus unlike their behavior with Keir. But then again Keir did kidnap, blackmail and coerce them so maybe that's why they're more willing to get on his nerves. idk if this is a me thing or nah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Either way, looking forward to the fancy stranger and 2nd chapter~
Why do I choose the pronouns "she/her" but still feel like the characters perceive me as a gender-neutral being? Apparently, this is a problem in all games where you can choose your pronouns, but it doesn't even minimally affect the plot and the perception of the mc by other characters. I mean if I choose a feminine pronoun, then I would like to feel that other characters do see me as a woman. I wish the chosen pronouns weren't just a formality.
So according to you, being a woman means imposing a misogynistic gender role on her?It's unfortunate that you have such negative associations with the female sex. I, on the contrary, enjoy the fact that I'm a woman and I don't want to hide my feminine essence behind a mask, especially when I have chosen the "she/ her" pronouns. Or why then in the game they made it even possible to choose your pronouns, despite the fact that you're wearing a mask?
because the gender of the mc doesn't matter to the story, and the mask is a way to let people imagine the mc however they want rather that putting restrictions on the possible appearances. the mc in your story can still be female or not, the love interest don't care either way because it isn't the focus of the darn story.

There are many other aspects that indicate which gender a person belongs to. Secondly, doesn't my choice of pronoun in itself imply that I want to be perceived as a being of the gender whose pronoun I have chosen? If I choose "she/her", then I think it makes sense that I want the characters to perceive me as a woman and treat me as one.
what is up with you calling all the nb fellas gender-neutral BEINGS, we're people just like any man or woman and the characters in the game treat us as such. there are plenty games with cis women as mc's, but this one isn't one of them. the mc doesn't have a specific gender but does have a personality that doesn't need to correspond to the pronouns chosen by the player and besides, it's pronouns=gender and people can use any pronouns despite their appearance or gender.

Yes, I'm a bit disturbed that after choosing feminine pronouns, I still continue to feel like a gender-neutral person/being ("being" is just a synonym for "person" so calm your sh!t). (also being and person aren’t synonyms, while being a person does imply that you’re a being, calling someone a being doesn’t necessarily mean that the being is a person, this is just a very insensitive wording and yes i am indeed offended by it whenever you meant it well or not)
I think it goes more along with the "diversity" and your interpertation of your mc, it might not fit your taste, but adding a lot of descriptions just to fit the pronouns might give the creator more work to do (via, coding wise). Plus, it's up to them if they're willing to add it or not. There are other games with more in depth that is in touch with pronouns and sexuality, that is out there too.
I've just bought the game and played for a bit. The settings and vibes really intriguing so far! I love the atmosphere so much. Too bad that 'Fancy stranger' haven't have his own route yet and that discourages me from finishing current chapter a bit (He seems to be my type and I wanna pursue him so much!) this is such a fun and interesting story ur cooking up lol.. the art is really lovely and im A HUGE FAN of the . idk lore? the masks, the gods, the market itself. its really really fun. the art and music are really pretty, and the writing has a distinct tone and style to it that suits the atmosphere nicely. the interactions between vesper and keir are so cute and dynamic - and vespers internal dialogue, especially their distrust, adds a really neat level to those interactions, as well as with other characters.

wow! this is one of the most unique visual novels i've ever played! i'm glad i got to play this.
i normally don't write reviews but i just had to for this one. i'm particularly astounded by the world-building and how you managed to come up with the MC without them being skewed to one specific gender. as someone who is queer, i found this very smart and was happy :)
the characters are very lovely as well. cirrus was my favorite from the two so far; i really love dark themes haha. but i'm curious about the fancy-looking stranger because i'm already drawn to him just from the cameo! it was also refreshing to see a talkative and sarcastic MC.
i believe i also got all endings. this is not something you probably did intentionally, but i found myself chuckling over some of the bad endings (SPOILER: like "cirrus got bored of you" or "you ran your mouth too much"). it's like saying f*ck around and find out, which suits this adventure(?)-style genre and adds a charm to the game. i guess to simply say, the consequences of the choices the player makes are quite quirky.
one last thing: the writing style is Amazing. it's playful yet serious and colloquial yet eloquent. i'm also a writer and an avid reader who often gets picky about how a story is written, so this was rather superb and unique. world building is indeed one of the hardest elements to write (esp. in fantasy, dystopia, etc. genres) and i just think you neatly had it down.

The storytelling, the scenery, the artwork, everything is so well done and even months after my initial download of the demo, I'm still thinking about this game! Incredible work, and I can't wait to see where this goes.

Played this a few days ago and it was absolutely amazing! spent a good hour or two doing both of the routes and trying to get the good endings. IM ANTICIPATING WITH SWEATING HANDS FOR WHEN THE NEXT ROUTE COMES OUT OR EVEN THE FULL GAME
I love the world you've created! It's so interesting. The music, characters, art... I loved it all.
While I enjoyed both routes, Kier's route was definitely my favorite. Him and the MC had such natural chemistry, every interaction was a joy. I don't like quippy characters, but the mc's snarkiness felt different here. The nonplussed delivery was incredible and a large part why I enjoyed this route so much.
Can't wait to see how the story continues! The team as a whole did fantastic work.
I really enjoyed every character in this story especially our MC.

Oh yea and it's important for the other players to really check out the trigger warnings and the age restriction because i think some ignored them (from reading some of the comments) and it's important to take care of yourself first and foremost!

I love this game so far!! I've done Kier's route twice now for both the good and bad ending, and I can't wait to explore the others. I also LOVE the MC and how expressive they are. The addition of the masks is also great because it allows you to truly imagine the MC however you want. Looking forward to more.
Wasn't really a fan of how nonconsensual Cirrus' route felt, I'm not really the target audience for (heavy) BDSM priests, but LOVED LOVED LOVED KEIR'S ROUTE. I got the good ending on the first try, and I ADORED how the MC and Keir act together. Speaking of the MC, I can't type praises high enough to fully express how much I LOVE their personality. Too many MCs aren't talkative enough, so I find it absolutely delightful how the MC always has something snarky to say. Can't wait for the next chapter!
This was so fun to play! Played both routes and my favorite is Keir even though he's a douchebag. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Keir and Vesper. Vesper is so sassy and really clever, absoluetely loved their personality! One of the only things that kinda bothered me were how it felt like Vesper's personality kind of got watered down in Cirrus's route? Vesper is desperate for the ichor but in Cirrus's route it was like they were even more desperate, to the point of not even questioning Cirrus when he first offered help. They are suspicious but never question Cirrus unlike their behavior with Keir. But then again Keir did kidnap, blackmail and coerce them so maybe that's why they're more willing to get on his nerves. idk if this is a me thing or nah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Either way, looking forward to the fancy stranger and 2nd chapter~

Why do I choose the pronouns "she/her" but still feel like the characters perceive me as a gender-neutral being? Apparently, this is a problem in all games where you can choose your pronouns, but it doesn't even minimally affect the plot and the perception of the mc by other characters. I mean if I choose a feminine pronoun, then I would like to feel that other characters do see me as a woman. I wish the chosen pronouns weren't just a formality.
So according to you, being a woman means imposing a misogynistic gender role on her? It's unfortunate that you have such negative associations with the female sex. I, on the contrary, enjoy the fact that I'm a woman and I don't want to hide my feminine essence behind a mask, especially when I have chosen the "she/ her" pronouns. Or why then in the game they made it even possible to choose your pronouns, despite the fact that you're wearing a mask?
Just a thought for you ;)because the gender of the mc doesn't matter to the story, and the mask is a way to let people imagine the mc however they want rather that putting restrictions on the possible appearances. the mc in your story can still be female or not, the love interest don't care either way because it isn't the focus of the darn story.
Firstly, even if your face is masked, your voice will still be feminine or masculine. And the outlines of your body will still hint that you have either a feminine figure or a masculine-type figure. Sometimes you just have to look at a person's gait, and you can already guess what gender this person is. Therefore, wearing a mask cannot mean that you will be perceived as a gender-neutral being. There are many other aspects that indicate which gender a person belongs to.
Secondly, doesn't my choice of pronoun in itself imply that I want to be perceived as a being of the gender whose pronoun I have chosen? If I choose "she/her", then I think it makes sense that I want the characters to perceive me as a woman and treat me as one.
what is up with you calling all the nb fellas gender-neutral BEINGS, we're people just like any man or woman and the characters in the game treat us as such. there are plenty games with cis women as mc's, but this one isn't one of them. the mc doesn't have a specific gender but does have a personality that doesn't need to correspond to the pronouns chosen by the player and besides, it's pronouns=gender and people can use any pronouns despite their appearance or gender.
I didn't talk about you. I talked about MY OWN feelings and how the choice of pronouns makes me feel in the story. Yes, I'm a bit disturbed that after choosing feminine pronouns, I still continue to feel like a gender-neutral person/being ("being" is just a synonym for "person" so calm your sh!t).
I think it would be the same for you if you chose "they/them" pronouns and other characters were treating you like a lady, for example.
And you're wrong about the mc not having a specific gender. Perhaps you skipped biology classes or forgot which pronouns refer to which gender?
It is logical that a person who identifies themselves as a man chooses masculine pronouns, and a person who identifies themselves as a woman chooses feminine pronouns. And the one who considers themselves nb choses "they/them".

you aren’t choosing mcs gender you’re choosing how others refer to you in the game. and if the main character in the story was a woman (as they usually are in dating sims) i would not be complaining about it because then the game wasn’t meant for me to put myself into that character. it is a different thing with characters which gender isn’t relevant in the story and isn’t specified, because it allows both nbs and other genders to put themselves into without any restriction. gender neutrality isn’t about invalidating YOUR gender identity its about allowing as many different gender identifying people to have a game where they can play as a character that doesn’t have standard gender roles pushed into them.
(also being and person aren’t synonyms, while being a person does imply that you’re a being, calling someone a being doesn’t necessarily mean that the being is a person, this is just a very insensitive wording and yes i am indeed offended by it whenever you meant it well or not)
I think it goes more along with the "diversity" and your interpertation of your mc, it might not fit your taste, but adding a lot of descriptions just to fit the pronouns might give the creator more work to do (via, coding wise). Plus, it's up to them if they're willing to add it or not. There are other games with more in depth that is in touch with pronouns and sexuality, that is out there too.

I've just bought the game and played for a bit. The settings and vibes really intriguing so far! I love the atmosphere so much. Too bad that 'Fancy stranger' haven't have his own route yet and that discourages me from finishing current chapter a bit (He seems to be my type and I wanna pursue him so much!) I will wait for the updates, keep up good work^^!
this is such a fun and interesting story ur cooking up lol.. the art is really lovely and im A HUGE FAN of the . idk lore? the masks, the gods, the market itself. its really really fun. the art and music are really pretty, and the writing has a distinct tone and style to it that suits the atmosphere nicely. the interactions between vesper and keir are so cute and dynamic - and vespers internal dialogue, especially their distrust, adds a really neat level to those interactions, as well as with other characters.
anyways. really looking forward to seeing more of this :-)

wow! this is one of the most unique visual novels i've ever played! i'm glad i got to play this.
i normally don't write reviews but i just had to for this one. i'm particularly astounded by the world-building and how you managed to come up with the MC without them being skewed to one specific gender. as someone who is queer, i found this very smart and was happy :)
the characters are very lovely as well. cirrus was my favorite from the two so far; i really love dark themes haha. but i'm curious about the fancy-looking stranger because i'm already drawn to him just from the cameo! it was also refreshing to see a talkative and sarcastic MC.
i believe i also got all endings. this is not something you probably did intentionally, but i found myself chuckling over some of the bad endings (SPOILER: like "cirrus got bored of you" or "you ran your mouth too much"). it's like saying f*ck around and find out, which suits this adventure(?)-style genre and adds a charm to the game. i guess to simply say, the consequences of the choices the player makes are quite quirky.
one last thing: the writing style is Amazing. it's playful yet serious and colloquial yet eloquent. i'm also a writer and an avid reader who often gets picky about how a story is written, so this was rather superb and unique. world building is indeed one of the hardest elements to write (esp. in fantasy, dystopia, etc. genres) and i just think you neatly had it down.
