I was wondering when the next chapter (chapter 2) would come out and how much it would cost then?
And about Francesco, I tired everything but there's probably just this one Bad Ending available rn, where he leaves us in the club. Question is, will he still be an option in the 2nd chapter or is he really just gone then?
We don't have an exact number in mind for Chapter 2 when it comes to release date or price yet. Once we know for sure we'll announce it, so following us on some social media platform (or here on itch.io) is all we can advise for now.
And Francesco does have a good end in Chapter 1! If you're struggling a bit with it, the Ending Guide pdf includes a guide for the section where you're stuck, which should get you to the good end.
I love this game so much! Perfect game for people who prefer slower, lore filled stories with detailed characters. I've replayed the all the routes multiple times despite the fact I downloaded it about a month ago!

Maybe my standards were too high, but the visuals were good. They were great to me actually. But in the nicest way, the story wasn't engaging. Again, I love the visuals. Wish the best for the creators!
This game is so well made, I'm especially a fan of the music and character designs. Also the aftercare with the MC was a wonderful addition, team MC all the way!
i have the same problem with this game and another visual novel, where the music plays on startup but the screen is black. can anyone help because i really want to play it??
i got all of the endings, the order i went was cirrus, keir, francesco and oleander. gotta say, i feel like i left the best for last, cause MY GOSH oleander is amazing, his endings are also really straightforward to get! i had a hard time with cirrus and francesco because of some subleties i glossed over, but overall 100000/10 experience, cant wait to see more!
Oh boy just played it... and got Cirrus route and I loved it. I donated a little bit as well and will do it again in the future as the game progresses. Hope everyone who enjoys the game and has the means will contribute. You guys deserve it!
I just played the demo of the game and OMGGG so good! Has to be the best dialogue in a dating sim that I've seen in a LONG time, just got off an otome bender so experiencing writing with actual personality, humor, and wit paired with a diverse cast of characters!?!?! SO revitalizing lol. Fantastic writing. The story so far is super compelling I have such a thing for stories with characters struggling with some hard-to-cure disease. I LIVE for the drama of it all. I could blabber all day about all the pros of this game, super excited for its continued development! Everybody needs to give this game a try I swear.
My only feedback that isn't even feedback and more of a personal observation is less height-difference dialogue so players can leave their character's traits more up to their imagination ( I imagine my guy as this jacked, tower of a man LOL), but I imagine how tricky that can be when drawing/writing for what a range of imagined protags. It's honestly pretty easy to ignore for every route except Keir's so it doesn't even really matter. So excited for more of this game!!!

I downloaded Obscura a month ago and it honestly hasn't left my mind since. The writing is great, the characters are compelling, and the Aftercare dialog is something I didn't even know I wanted in a visual novel. Thanks so much, devs! I'm eagerly awaiting the next parts. 💙
I came from the steam version and after learning that only two of the four routes were available I thought it over and planned to download the itch.io version, but I did so only after completing a first run of cirrus and keir. I was a little disappointed because I was expecting to have to go through everything again to get to where I was, but imagine my surprise when my progress was kept! Don't know how you did it devs, but just wanted to say that I love whatever little magic trick you did, it put a smile on my face.

This is actually a built-in feature of our engine, Ren'py, so no magic required from us 😊 All version of Obscura save their data to the same file in your computer (unless we actively tell the game to save and load to a new file), to make sure moving from version to version is easier for all players.
I've had this game's name written down for a while now, just got around to palying it, honestly LOVE IT to bits. I love the art, I love the music, I love the characters so much (thank you for Cirrus in particular, I never realised my religious issues were that bad until he showed up 😂), and I cannot WAIT to drag all of my friends into it and talk them to death about it. I also cannot wait for the full game's release but no pressure, don't overwork yourselves!
I just finished playing the whole demo with all the endings with each character and safe to say, I'm absolutely in love with this game!<3 CANT WAIT FOR MORE!! As for the characters, from my perspective, I did the not-made-for-me route with Cirrus. I like him the least T-T Though he's a well written chrctr, as smn with dominant personality- He just doesnt sit well with me and with him, it's really like "POV: You have the villain's interest". After doing the darkest route first (for me), I was able to enjoy other characters way more!! IM SOOOOO SOOOOO IN LOVE WITH KEIR!!! Keir best boy, I WANT MORE OF HIM PLSSS. I love that sassy mf! I love the dynamic between him & MC and he's on the top of my fave list. Then will be Oleander. That hot cocky mf, he so hot that I melt. I love how in the best route, MC & him matches energy so well and the chemistry and sexual tension between them OHOHOHOHO I WANT MORE OF HIM TOOOO! And let's not forget Francesco, my sussy sweet little munchkin. He's so adorable, I'll happily adopt him and give him lots of hugs. Though the inkling feeling that he's hiding smthg real big and SPOILER ALERT!!!! might even be faking his whole personality, makes me more intrigued about his story route!! I just wanna say thank you to all the devs for this amazing Masterpiec!! I enjoyed it a lot! A LOT!!!
i just finished this chapter with Keir (haven't met the other characters yet, this is my first run) And I can say I already love this game. It seems like we're not in the typical stereotypes of visual novels characters and it's nice, the chemistry with Keir is great as well. The design is so beautiful too and the story captivating. I'm going to do the other runs but I'm already excited for chapter 2 The only little thing I could say is, for non native english speakers, some sentences or expressions are difficult to understand, even with a translation.
I haven't finished playing, but this is amazing. I entered the game expecting a generic visual novel to spend some free time on, but instead I got instantly engrossed in the story. The visuals and sounds have a great effect and truly create an amazing atmosphere without the need for voice acting or animations. That and the writing—it's truly gratifying to see some good writing, and I love the subtle and not too "on the face" worldbuilding.
I haven't even started the game yet and I'm already here to say how impressed I am, by two things in particular -
1. That game opening sequence is something I don't think I've ever seen done so cleanly in an indie game before, it's so smooth and immediately gives a feeling that this game will be polished, and it is a FANTASTIC first impression!
2. The aftercare section in Extras on the menu - I've never seen that in another game before and I was taken aback by how safe it made me feel. I briefly looked at the "on my own" option (to avoid character spoilers), and it's a damn good check-in from what I can see of the first couple questions. Coming into the game knowing it goes into some darker themes, it adds a really nice sense of security to know this is available at any point in time.
This game is awesome!! The characters are all so well-written and diverse! I've been following the development of this game for about a year now and I plan to stick around till the end because the dev team are just such cool and creative people who deserve all the support they have been getting so far! Great game so far, I recommend giving it a play! :D

As a kinkster, and someone into D/S, it's incredibly hard to find games or content that appeal to you, and Cirrus was wonderful! I really very much hope that the kink elements of his route continue throughout the rest of the game, I've never loved an indie visual novel option quite as much as I do this guy, wonderful game, amazing art direction, writing was very enjoyable, overall a wonderful experience! The other routes were also wonderful, Oleander coming as a close second favorite for me, but the other two are just as great. <3

Cirrus is making me realize I'm more of a masochist than I had thought, man. His best end is making me red, man.
I have to say... this really was an experience. Not only for the visually stunning art that is present but also with the beautiful music that accompanies it. I love how we can just focus on one route because truly, I was a bit hesitant with it. But I'm glad I can actively pour my attention over to whatever is happening on that route.
My first route was Keir and he was the first one I got to Best Ending which, I was so happy about because I love the bond Keir has with the MC and the overall story, it was less heavy compared to what was happening to the other route but it was also pretty thrilling, I like Keir's personality and his jokes, they really vibed well with me. And the comfort I felt with him was very soothing that I was glad that I got to the Best Ending.
I was a bit stumped but enthralled with Cirrus due to his mysterious nature and why he seemed so intent on saving us especially with the lunar ichor. His route was by far a tricky one to undertake and it made me curious over what was happening but I have to thank the guide because it was also my first Neutral Ending route which just showed how resilient MC was, but also in the Best Ending I couldn't help but be curious over the desperation Cirrus had. So curious to see more.
Francesco's route was the route where I got my very first Bad Ending which just hurts me in the heart (it was the out of time), thankfully I was able to quickly find out what happened but I'm still so curious about Francesco and how he just got some random people to back down, I know he has to be of noble lineage or something but it's a very curious thing, but also his Best Ending was on par with Keir if not you feel like an exasperated friend watching over your more irresponsible friend. Also he looks so pretty in such a cute sexy way so SUE me.
I didn't get to Oleander's route since I didn't know how to unlock him yet... but he does look curious~
Also, not only that-- but that Aftercare scene? Especially with the main character?? My heart clenched and I felt so at ease, I love this insert and though I didn't go ham and complete all endings because I didn't want to hurt myself, I really appreciate you all for adding this! This was such a lovely visual novel I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Looking forward to see what comes next~!!
Yesss I agree to ur review!! Also as for Oleander, if u choose "Leave" when u initially see the ruccus in the street at the start of the story, u will reach a bar/tavern of sorts and then if u "Approach the laughing crowd", Boom! U will find Mr. Charming/ Oleander there

If it's multiple games giving you issues, you might have an issue with your drivers. Here is a page with some suggestions to get things fixed, directly from the developer of the Ren'py engine.
