Hello, my beauties!

It’s been a gorgeous June for us in our neck of the woods. We enjoyed a little “summer camp” where we got together and ate a lot of good food and did some fun work together, and that was wonderful! 

After that, it was back to work in our own parts of the world. We’re currently in the process of getting Chapter 1.5 of Obscura on Steam as a demo for the rest of the game. One part of that has involved a touch of polish and a tiny bit of new bonus content. Coming back to meddle with code has been extremely satisfying.

On the other side of things is just getting the demo ready for Steam. It’s been a little frustrating at times (the Steam backend is less intuitive than Itch.io’s, I think it’s fair to say!) but things are trundling along nicely. One great thing about it is that as devs we get access to our game builds right off the bat, and it is extremely satisfying to open up my Steam library and see this:

Wishlists are the vital statistic for games that aren’t released yet and every single one helps get us more visibility in the terrifying swamp that is Steam. In more direct developer business, it’s been a lot of laying the groundwork for everything. Plots are being plotted and the writers are making sure Cajsa and Mugi know what kind of assets are going to be needed in the future. There’s a surprising amount of powerpoints involved.
